Programme from February to June 2010
Dear Member, Dear prospective Member,
Once again we have a programme ready for you. We hope that we have chosen something to suit every taste. Films as usual! — Our films this season will have the theme “British Artists” and very often there will be a talk beforehand. The Conversation group on Tuesdays from 15.00-16.00 will continue and will be run by Yasmin Bitugu, starting on March 9th. Andrew’s Poetry Cafe will now be about once a month. Naturally, we have chosen some, hopefully interesting talks for you - two of which will have a Welsh theme this time. The season will round off with a “garden party” and our annual excursion. The excursion this year follows the steps of Ernest Hemingway .... we shall be visiting Galtür, Silvretta, Schruns...
The Society’s Highlight this time is a very special concert, which will take place in the Orgelsaal of the Mozarteum! See your invitation!
The VHS has some highly recommended talks this time. They cover Scotland and Australia as well as Canada.
We now intend to keep our library open longer on a Tuesday. We are planning to stay open until 19.00 to meet the needs of our working members.
Sadly, the Hotel Royal has closed down. The talks about Wales will be held in the Rooms of the Neue Akropolis, Müller Strasse 27a. The Müller Strasse is at the “back of the hospital”, between Speckbacher Strasse and Andreas Hofer Strasse.
The Nr. 1 tram stops at the corner of Andreas Hofer Strasse - BürgerStrasse which is very close to Müller Strasse. It is thus convenient for anyone wishing to change at the Terminal. You go through the arch at 27a, across the small car park to the low building opposite, up the 3 steps, turn left and you’re there!

Looking forward to seeing you and to meeting new faces at our many events. A gentle reminder — to those of you who have not yet paid your membership fee for 2010 ! Do note that our events need to have a considerable price difference (for example for our coming concert) for those with or without membership cards!
If the society hasn’t already got your actual email-addresse, please send it to hazelzeiner@yahoo.de. It will help to reduce costs and keep you better updated.
With our Best Wishes,
Hazel and Andrew
